Press Release

Ortana is pleased to announce native support for LucidLink storage across the entire Cubix product range.

[London, 11th September 2024] - Ortana Media Group is excited to introduce their native integration of LucidLink storage across the entire Cubix product range, enabling seamless provisioning, project management, and content lifecycle management across cloud and remote workspaces.

By natively integrating the LucidLink API, Cubix delivers full control over provisioning and project/content lifecycle across your LucidLink estate. Cubix can also dynamically provision workspaces across a wide range of storage types including AWS S3, Wasabi and Storj, as well as manage the mounting of shares to your remote editor’s workstations.

Cubix can deploy configurable project templates onto any workspace, creating default folder structures which could contain folders for receiving source materials from the Cubix MAM, as well as watch folders for delivering content back into Cubix for archiving/workflow triggering. This allows users to quickly search using the rich AI-generated metadata Cubix Halo supports, and then to select the specific content they want to deliver to the workspace. Transcode options are also fully supported to create content suitable for Avid or Adobe NLEs - as well as for upscaling, format changes, proxy devaluation etc.

Editors can then simply place finished content into the relevant folder to trigger workflows for archiving and send secure links as screeners for review and approval processes, for example.

Cubix can also be configured to perform regular backups/snapshots on the project folder, only backing up the elements that have changed since the last backup. These backups can be configured to be sent to your choice of cloud storage (e.g. Storj, AWS S3, Backblaze, etc.), and can be easily fully or partially restored via the Cubix UI.

Key features:

  • Full management of domains and workspaces within the entire Cubix product range - including filespace creation, initialisation and mounting/unmounting.

  • The Cubix Project widget allows for the full management of users and machine resources to be assigned, as well as set “go live” dates.

  • Easily deliver source materials and rushes to LucidLink workspaces by searching and selecting content using the Halo Portal with full support for AI indexing and metadata enrichment.

  • Easily trigger archive, screener, or distribution workflows through simple watch folders directly on the LucidLink filespaces.

  • Create default project folder structures on all your filespaces to better manage project content.

  • Full reporting across all filespaces to help manage project usage, data volumes, as well as costs.

  • Full and snapshot backups for projects to your choice of cloud storage.

This integration allows media organisations to build highly adaptable, remote workflows, making it easy to deliver content to remote editors, manage project structures, and handle content throughout its entire lifecycle. From creation to distribution, Cubix and LucidLink ensure your media is always where it needs to be.
